live audio/video collaborative performance with Lamis Haggag

Collaboration with visual artist/performer Lamis Haggag, the performance is a sound/visual exploration of the notion of the social bubble that we create to alienate ourselves from a restrictive atmosphere. The shield we create then becomes restrictive in itself. Through banging against the surface Lamis produces a drum base that compensates for the drum base in my music. I record the sounds through the performance, mix, and re-present them in my sound piece. Furthermore, the repetitive movements become a metaphor for the notion of habitual confinement that Lamis seldom deploys in her projects.
